Independence Day Parade

Many have probably seen these pictures on Facebook, but here you go again:)

So, Saturday...or what I would rather refer to as really hot and sweaty day:)  We had a huge turnout to pass out the 2500 bags of water to the people of Belmopan.  Unfortunately, we stood about three hours for the parade to start in the hot sun...so many of our waters were given out to other parade participants, students, etc., before the parade actually started:)  But still, touching them with the love of Jesus while helping relieve their physical bodies.

It was amazing, as we very quickly tried to keep up with the parade and passing out the waters, how many people shouted out my name and knew me.  It was a blessing to give something cold to people to drink and also share about LifeNet.

We got home and it began thundering, which is typical around 2 here...yes, we did leave the house at 10 and just got home at 2:)  So, we went up to the end of the street to buy yummy Barbecue before the rain hit.  We were unsucessful in avoiding the rain and ended up bringing our lunch home in the pouring down rain.  Well, we needed to shower anyway and it was a blessing that we enjoyed more comfortable temps for the rest of the day...that we were too tired to do much but relax:)  And it is a blessing that we got to enjoy a Belizean favorite meal that I didn't have to cook:)
