just a few thoughts

i have no pictures today...just some thoughts

we have been so busy, but the good kind of busy.  we are getting to know more and more people all the time.  and belize is so small that everyone knows everyone...good and bad.

one thing that i have really noticed here in belize is that everyone knows everyone, yet, there seems to be very few intimate friendships amoung the people we meet.  that is who Lee and I are.  we are all about relationships, and genuine relationships, complete with "refrigerator rights".  of course, we realize that it takes time to form deep bonds and to build up trust.  but it is something i just don't see here.  like people that have lived here forever, but are hungry for friends...for people to hang out with.  to love them and invite them over.

i am really enjoying homeschool this year.  this morning, erika and i took a break to have some friends over.  it was a good decision.  we doubled up on her schooling yesterday.  it is important for her to have time with friends, as this is a part of learning as well.  Learning to imagine and pretend..and we had the perfect little girl over for that.  this little four year old has a big imagination.  erika had so much fun.  and i enjoyed having a friend over as well.

the church is slowly but surely growing again.  it is nice to have some new faces and see them come back.  we are busy having different people over to dinner to get to know them better.  im still getting the hang of cooking here in belize, but it is definitely improving and i have a wider amount of things I am comfortable making now.

it is hot...still...but coolness is on the scope.  i am believing for it.  nights are definitely a little cooler and our bedroom gets down to about 78 while we sleep each night.  that is nice...  if I sweat all day, but can sleep good at night, the world is a much more beautiful place.

we are entering into the season of "back to school" so people are looking to go back to church as well.  pray that the Lord brings the right people.  also, we are entering a month of PARTYING....Belizeans like to party, but Carnival will start next weekend.  people do a lot of things during carnival that i am sure they regret in the morning.  pray as we minister to those around us during this next month.  Lee already had an oppurtunity to minister to a suicidal young man, and we have  had Divine Appts definitely from the Lord.  please uphold our family in prayer as well.  the enemy does not like it when God is moving...
